About MEGABLEND 2
New DJs, think you have what it takes to be next on the decks? Donnelly Nightclubs and The Blend present the return of MEGABLEND, Vancouver’s #1 DJ competition for the up n coming selector.

MEGABLEND will take place on Wednesdays at Republic over 5 weeks, beginning October 28 and culminating in the finals November 25. The contest will be judged by The Boyscouts (Marlon J English + P.Luv), DJ Supafly (the Beat 94.5) and DJ Kenya (Republic/Bar None).

DJs will advance thru the competition based on technical skill, originality, crowd response and showmanship. Each DJ selected to participate will get an unlimited guest list to bring their crowd out to support them (remember – crowd response is key!). 5 DJs will compete each week for 4 weeks with the winner and runner-up of each week guaranteed a spot in the finals Nov 25. Each week’s winner will also receive 1 VIP table service package and guest list for 5 for the following weeks to check out the competition. Each week’s runner-up will receive a 5 person guest list for the remaining weeks.

The final line-up will consist of 8 DJs.

GRAND PRIZE is a DJ residency at Republic, a spot in the Vancouver regional Red Bull 3-Style competition, a live set on The Beat 94.5 and a trip for 2 to Whistler and a gig at the Longhorn.

2nd place prize is a VIP table service package for 4, guest list for 10 and a weekend DJ slot at Republic

3rd place prize is a VIP table service package for 4 at Republic

Please submit links to an online demo mix (15 minutes max, 192kbps – no exceptions) and Electronic Press Kit to megablend@dhmbars.ca by Oct 14 for consideration, contestants will be announced Oct 21.

Know a DJ who needs to be included in this season’s field? Vote them in as the “Fan Choice” – send an email to megablend@dhmbars.ca to nominate the person you think should compete, the DJ with the most votes gets an automatic berth in the preliminaries, please only one vote per email address.
