Jump Jive and Shout

Let the fun begin. Join us at Jump Jive and Shout the lively, fun friendly retro style jive night, with retro diva and vinyl queen dj Jeniffer Jackson spinning some of the very best in red hot, pulsating, energy driven 1940s and 50s rhythm n blues, jump jive, vocal harmony (doo wop)groups, blues shouters and more. All music is played on vinyl the way it was back then and not a CD in sight.

Celebrating the wonderful, dynamic music from some of the great unsung originators who laid the foundation for what would eventually become known as “rock n roll”: Louis Jordan, Big Joe Turner, Little Richard, Ruth Brown, Amos Milburn, Lucky Millinder, Ike Turner, The Chords and others. It’s that driving swinging be that get’s you moving every time.
If you've seen the films Cadillac Records, Honey Dripper, or Ray you will know the story. Real roots music, pounding and pulsating, give in to your musical urge.

A great night out, lively, welcoming and informal on the second Saturday of each month with occasional live music from some of the UKs best rockin’ bands.

Dress code optional: but think smart or retro, vintage, 1940s, 50s, 60s. or the T.Vs series Mad Men and Pan am.
