Charlie Darker [Montreal | Plasmapool | Mad Decent]

Charlie Darker, the musical alias of 19-year old DJ/producer Evan Blair, is a product of the explosion of the EDM movement in North America. Charlie Darker spent his early years playing different instruments in numerous bands, but eventually traded in the guitar and drums for a Macbook and Ableton. Since his venture from indie rock to EDM in 2009, Mr. Darker has been gaining exposure as a notable producer in the blogosphere and beyond.

Darker then took his talents from the studio to the club, conquering legendary EDM venues across Canada. Darker’s DJ sets, a diverse clash of high-energy electro, dubstep, and big room, have helped him gain recognition as a rising star in the Canadian EDM scene. This reputation has allowed him to share the stage with well-respected DJs such as Wolfgang Gartner, Zedd, LA Riots, Mord Fustang, and Peace Treaty.

After releasing his first official single “Astromarx” on Plasmapool’s Houserecordings, Charlie Darker was handpicked by Mord Fustang to remix the electro all-star’s Beatport chart-topper ”Electric Dream”. The track then went on to crack the top 5 on the Beatport dubstep chart, as well as the top 100 beatport overall chart. 2012 is set to be a big year for Charlie Darker, with tracks already cracking the top 5 on the HypeM chart, and new original tracks, collaborations, and remixes on the way.
