We welcome to our centre stage
DOMINICANISSIMA - Vancouver Dominican Folkloric group led by Martha Rodriguez, introducing the original Dominican folk music and Dance.


1- Mangulina: Treditional type of Merengue mixed with spanial Zapateo music, from the South region of the Country.



2 - Perico Ripiao: One of the three types of merengue played in the Dominican Republic. This is considered the typical type of Merengue and the oldest played.
It originated in the Santiago area in the Cibao Valley region first appeared in recorded history in the 1840's.


3- Dominican Bachata and Flamenco fusion: A new fusion dance performance by Emil Sanchez and Aimee Ceballos Rodrigez. Watch this two Dominicans as they take their traditional original folkloric Bachata and fuse it with dramatic Flamenco to reach a new level of excitement.
