72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown – Vancouver REPEAT

Every year during the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler, BC, an epic battle royale between young filmmakers ensues. The concept is simple… you literally have 72 hours to write, shoot, edit and score a film.

It’s the most sought after and popular event during the festival and every year it sells out immediately. If you haven’t had the privilege to be part of this amazing showdown in past, you will now have an opportunity to relive it with us at The Bimini this Wednesday April 25th.

It works something like this... you get a crew together, mostly friends who owe you various favours, go to a production meeting where the contest's administrators hand you a prop you have to use in your film, then you have from 10 a.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Monday to finish the film. It's a race to the finish line (literally) for eager filmmakers to show their chops as directors and prove they can meet tight deadlines. The creativity that comes from not eating or sleeping for three days is impressive to say the least.

Come join Lipstick Mafia and Vivo Headwear this Wednesday as we launch the Vancouver REPEAT of the 72-Hour Filmmaker Showdown. We will have a `PEOPLE`S CHOICE` vote at the end of the showing and the winning film will receive a $100 bar tab to share with their friends…

Films will start showing at 8pm… get there early for good seats!!!
