Siavash possesses the amazing gift of showing people how to appreciate and live life through music. His showsmanship and stage presence are something to be experienced, and his magnetic personality is evident in his audience-unifying performances. All of his sets are unplanned, allowing him to accommodate the crowd's desires and expectations. Through his music, he establishes a personal relationship with each member of his audience, infusing any dance floor with explosive energy.

Siavash defies the limitations of beat mixing, captivating audiences with his signature sound of smooth layering, sequencing, and scratching. In the early 90's, he found himself immersed in electronic music culture, spinning at underground parties and raves throughout the West Coast. His style quickly progressed to incorporate all genres of electronic music into his unique and memorable sets. While Siavash's style is always rapidly changing to incorporate new sounds as music evolves, his distinctive sound is always well recognized.

Siavash has become very successful, playing alongside such visionaries as Steve Lawler, Sven Vath, Carl Cox, Deadmau5, Nick Warren and Richie Hawtin, as well as many other well recognized DJs and producers. He has landed numerous residencies at North America's most prestigious clubs, including Gorg-O-Mish, currently Vancouver's most respected after-hours. He also established his own wildly popular after-hours, Club Bed, where his infamous six-hour sets generated a massive cult following. His live performances reveal infinite potential as a DJ, demonstrating his diverse musical knowledge that spans genres and generations.

Hour 1: Fieldhead live! (Gizeh/Home Assembly)



Fieldhead is P Elam (a resident of Vancouver, BC). He produces ambient/electronic music that delights in tape hiss, geography, bleak landscapes and decaying analogue loops. He is also a full time member of Hood side project The Declining Winter and a part time member of Glissando’s Fleeting Glimpse Ensemble. He is ably assisted by violinists S Kemp and E Reynolds.



Fieldhead's latest release is the 'Riser' EP, a limited edition 10" vinyl out now on Gizeh Records. Riser was borne out of a desire to bring the sound of the human voice to the core of Fieldhead's music, and to rally against an idea of it as peripheral, as an afterthought to the music. The EP continues the love of tape hiss, grainy textures and dusty loops married with brevity and melody to be found in the album preceeding it ('They Shook Hands for Hours'), but this time the palette has been stripped back to just the human voice and minimal, organic synthesisers.

Hour 1: DJ She (Jane Blayze Productions)

Originally from the East Coast of Canada, now based out of Vancouver BC, SHE is one of the top female DJ’s on the Vancouver circuit. Growing up in a house-hold filled with funk and soul, She quickly acquired a love for music. From funk and soul, a love for hip hop developed and her journey into music began.

As a DJ, her style ranges from the roots of today’s music; classic funk, disco and soul, but SHE also crosses genres of West Coast and Chicago House, funky mid-tempo Breaks and of course Hip Hop and R&B.

Through her persistence and passion, SHE has been able to rock the decks along side some of the West Coast’s finest DJ’s including Vinyl Ritchie, Mat The Alien, U-Tern, Bettie Forde, Luke McKeehan, Neighbour, Flip-Out, and on an international tip, SHE has opened for the likes of Cut Chemist, formerly of Jurassic 5 and Brooklyn’s own DJ Ayers and DJ Eleven of The Rub. As well as, being invited to open for Queen Latifah on the first stop on her Persona Tour in 2009. SHE takes the title of first female DJ in Canada to compete in the world-wide Red Bull 3 Style competition.

Former manager of Beatstreet Records from ‘06-‘09, SHE is currently the host and creative director of GROUNDED TV & promoter and founder of JANE BLAZE PRODUCTIONS.

Started in January of 2010, M.O.V.E Productions employs the freshest talent, which means, no more 40 year old dudes hunched over the turntables playing “The Y.M.C.A ” and “The Chicken Dance” .Instead, you’ve got the hottest young DJ’s playing the best ,top 40, electro, dirty dutch, and all the party rockin’ anthems, over the speakers.

M.O.V.E productions was founded by T Ratnayake and Sukhdeep Grewal. 2 former members of the well renowned “3-Kings” DJ crew, who first got their hands on the turntables at the age of 13 in 2006. Since then, they were crafted by industry experts such as “Lady Eve”, and have been doing all sorts of events, from the huge blasts at “Steveston Salmon Festival” and “9-Alive||Youthweek events” ,to the “South Arm Preteen Dances”, and even the “City Of Richmond:’U-Roc Awards’”. They certainly have a lot of notches on their belts.Speaking of the “U-Roc Awards”, They have also received individual “U-Roc: Outstanding Youth” awards in 2009 for their service to the City Of Richmond as Youth DJ’s.

"Anonymity is a big deal in dance music: sometimes artists don’t want to deal with expectations, preconceived notions, or simply would rather keep their personal lives separate from their musical lives.

But a group like Downliners Sekt seem to thrive on it: consisting of unknown and inconsistent numbers, refusing to disclose geographical info, their names, or much of anything at all, they carry with them a certain cultish diffidence evoked by their very chosen name, germanic ally-stylized spelling and all. The group make appropriately dark and sometimes claustrophobic music, a mercurial history traceable through their releases: the abrasive broken beats of debut album Statement of Purpose sprouted serrated fuzz for the post-rock influenced Saltire Wave, both albums full of sometimes unfriendly – and always distorted – beats and grooves. But when the group shed its excess and stripped itself down to a duo, so the guitars melted away and their energy channeled into slamming hunks of twisted metal that don’t so much hint at industrial music as melt down and remould it to fit a slightly dubstep-informed template."

in Vancouver, Bevvy is always tossing new sounds on the table, with
sets drifting from throbbing floor pleasers and deep shuffles, to
face-warming buzzes and minimal funk-hop. Bevvy Swift is a man of many
colors.

He has played longside names such as The Glitch Mob, Eprom, Opiuo,
Chase & Status, TrillBass, Dj Lord, Ill Gates, Benny Page, Kraddy,
Appleblim, Matty G, An-Ten-Nae, and Ana Sia. His influences include:

This month, we celebrate seven years of being Vancouver's currently longest running non-denominational electronic music show. We would like to express our deepest and most sincere thanks to each and every one of you that have joined us in studio, tuned in, downloaded a podcast, shown up to one of our benefit shows or just recognized the name.

Without you, we wouldn't be here.

Being that we fly the flag of CFRO, Vancouver's community radio voice, our mandate has always been very simple. By the people, for the people, because of the people. A platform for the local electronic music community to see and be seen.
