The music was GREAT but what was up with the mixing. Felt like I was getting smacked in the head with every new track. Oh well, I'll still be there next week!

It's a bit tricky to mix at celebs.
Unless you're playing cds.
Those decks are on springs.
and wobbly ones at that.
it's weird, cueing up a record and the turntable dips with the slightest touch.
My recommendations to those who will be playing at celebs -
BRING HEAVY AS F&%$ NEEDLES.
(I didn't.)
they jump like crazy, especially when people are dancing in front of the booth.

they used to have the spaces in between the decks and the counter stuffed with napkins. supposedly it helped a little. don't know who took them out. I harldy even notice any wrecks any more heh.

When I had the resident night on Tuesdays before they closed way back in the day it was the same ... playing on records was really risky. Lucky for us our format was so weird that most of what we play isn't released on vinyl anyway, which kind of made that dilemma easy for us.

i had no problems last friday on the turntables. you just need a light touch.
they have those bloody orange air cushions under the decks to stop feedback
