^Why don't you think it wouldn't work...cause it's too far from the engine?

there's a higher lag time because the gas gets cooled. plus it hurts performance when it's being driven in the rain. plain retarded.

With all the lag time, wouldn't that screw with the backpressure on the exhaust system, and intern screw with the computer...I think the whole setup above would reduce power. Just a guess.
Oh, and if you think I don't know what I'm talking about, you are probably right.

yea rain would be a problem lol. manufacturers claim that because the setup is already under pressure lag is not *that* bad.. but obviously it won't be as efficient as a system with less plumbing
would be nice to see an identical turbo setup optimally in both standard and gay position to see how they differ in hp/torque

Obviously, if you wanted to show off your turbo, you'd get a system that goes under the hood.
Maybe people who wanna be stealth will buy this one.
I'd like to see what kind of numbers it puts down.

the STS rear mount setup is cheap and easy to install. Guys are running up to 12 PSI and 500-600 rwhp. An underhood turbo setup will cost more, but will also be capable of more power.
The system works and is yet another option for making power. Backpressure effects are no different from any other turbo setup. Lag is combatted by using a specialized turbine housing designed to get that impeller spinning quickly (altho this will limit top end power). Modern ball bearing turbos with lightweight wheels have fewer lag issues anyway. Rain has not been an issue for the LS1/LT1 STS kits.

paradox, there is no doubt that this kind of setup works. there is simply a lack of information on performance comparing a traditional setup and a rear mount.
the air intake and aerodynamics do not favour the rear mount.
i will say that you will have better performance at the same boost levels if it is front mount. turbos are supposed to compress the exhaust. the gas cooling through the exhaust pipe cools, and thus partially compresses the exhaust.
