I like the style of the board compared to others that I frequent, but I agree it is way way too slow

I just wished the board would tell you exactly what posts have been posted in since you last looked at that post. And also tell you on the topic list who posted the last post.

The room is too resource intensive. Brings my PC to a crawl. tongue

And no, I have no intention of getting a new computer just so I can use the damn chat room. angry

Best thing you can do is to make it accessable by everyone, not just by those who have the latest PC with the highest horsepower. blank stare

Dude...stop being such a luddite. Keep up or be left behind. That is the way of the internet.

I can respect your not having the inclination to keep up with advancements in technology, but at least stop complaining. The internet and its related technologies aren't going to just stop moving forward so people like you who have no wish to keep up can play along.

Even the turtle survived evolution. You must develop a strong protective cover for insults and a great patience to surf the net. Be one with the turtle!!!

Do you see me complaining about this all the time? Joel asked for feedback and I gave him some.

True, technology is always advancing and new technologies are requiring faster and better machines.

I see this as a big game, a spiral of wasteful consumerism. And yes you're right - Unlike 98% of the population I refuse to get caught up in it.

The fact is, currently my PI 200 MMX is serving all of my needs: I use it for work, I use it for correspondence, I use it for my audio conferences... heck when I turn off the Flash crap, I can even use it to surf CV. wink

The question I ask is: Does CV really need such a resource intensive program (based on the same Flash crap) to provide its users with a chat facility?

We had other chat programs in the past, and I could access them all without any difficulty. There're tens of other chat programs that can provide members with the same quality of interaction. I don't believe the flashiest solution is necessarily the best solution. blank stare

Nice analogy. smile

you should try and include something on poker with the new look clubvibes. I mean its a club site, how can you not include endless drivel about poker? Makes no sense.

10 years might be stretching it a bit, but I wouldn't be surprised if was 6-7 years ago.

The only reason why I bought the PI was because my beloved 486 DX/2 50 big grin could no longer run Java under IE and back then it was essential that I retained that capability.

My problems with the site:

1. It does not remember me the way the old site did.
2. When I log in I always have to hit the refresh button because it says page not found.
3. I can't find the My Friends list..not just the ones online.
4. I have to scroll to the right to see all the text in some posts and cannot see the sidebar when I do it.

Other than that... the site looks GREAT.
