Doesn't look like I'm going to get my first choice location.. but at least the dress is all up to me.

.. which is a problem in itself seeing as I have no fashion/design sense.

So I'm sending out an SOS to the girls of Fashionista.

I'll need two outfits, one for the morning (somewhat E.I. traditional - red, pink or orange) and one for the eveing (not sure of the color... could be a bright blue, green or even a traditional white/cream.. I'm thinking mermaid cut) I'm not into big white puffy dresses.. (although I've never tried one on).. but I'd like both outfits to be some sort of fusion and of course beautiful.

Any examples of fabric, color, style would be super helpful. I'm hitting up Main Street this weekend to try some things on, but my bf's mom is going to India in 2 weeks so if I want something custom made (which I do) I'll need to have it all figured out before then. I also need to figure out what I want for invitations before she goes (it's MUCH cheaper to have them made out there) so any suggestions for that would be great as well.

.. this will be so much fun once it's over.

you'd look REALLY beautiful in a long dress, not form fitting but slim cut. Strapless or sleeveless would look really good (I can picture you in a V-neck with thicker straps, sleeveless and looking stunning).

i think you'd look pretty in a blue colour
with fabric similar to the one used in this dress
maybe even the same style on top, but more form-fitting on the bottom

Thanks guys.. I would want it to be an off the shoulder, but it would have to have some sort of sleeve so that my tattoo would be covered. I also would like it more on the Indian side (lots of beadwork, stitching etc).

Something sort of like:

But the top would cover my stomach and the sleeves would be off my shoulders....

calling Cowgirlsissy, over

hahahha i actually laughed out loud at that one
i'm still looking up reception venues.....
it's bugging me that i can't find a PERFECT one blank stare

unbound, you'd look great in ANY style (damn you!) haha

check out the knot.com http://www.theknot.com
you can search dresses on there by style, price, designer, etc. it may give you a direction to head in smile

although as for invitations,
those are kinda cool

Thanks again wink

I'm not down with the Indian style invitation.. from what I've seen they're quite tacky and cheaply made. I'd like something simple, square, embossed, maybe just two colors, no silly designs (hearts, doves etc).

why don't you just get some really good makeup to cover up the tattoo?
that way you wouldn't be so restricted on the style of dress...

Where exactly is your tat?

A shawl of sorts can hide the tat...

Could do that, but I really like the off the shoulder with sleeves look. Like this one Sissy posted, which would cover my arm band perfectly:
