Some beautiful dresses Sissy.. but still a little too 'western' for me.. I think I need some Indian girls in here giving me ideas tongue

Take away the flowers, make the top full length and the skirt orange instead of blue and something like this might be nice for the morning ceremony:

I'm having mine custom made by Melanie at Lace Embrace Ateliers (www.laceembrace.com), after I saw that she has made wedding gowns. It's a design similar to the one below (I'm having Nyla (www.houseofnyla.com) make the shrug and sleeves). Since it's a winter wedding, the dress will be made of crushed white velvet. The bodice will have a bit of modesty-lace that can be removed later on (I wanted it to be sexy - but I didn't want to shock!).

I love the idea that I can wear the pieces (except for the skirt and sleeves) seperately afterwards wink

I hear you about planning weddings .... blank stare

Very pretty honeyryder and Lady_Tiger!

This color and embroidery style is quite nice:

I would like to have something soft looking for the ceremony and fun & bright for the reception.

I have a friend who decorates and consults traditional Indian weddings... she's in Cancun this week.. but she'll be back next week... she has an amazing collection of 'ideas' at her place you can look through...

Is your husband to be going to match your colours? If he is pick colours that suit you both otherwise pick whatever you like, its your big day!
