You could have a western-esque dress all you'd have to do is have it made in Indian fabrics. I think that the cap sleeve is very flattering and feminine, Ultimately, you need someone artistic to take the things you like best about each dress and meld them together. If I had a scanner, I'd do it for ya, but I don't.. lol (although, if you get desperate, I could do up some sketches and take a pic of them with my camera).

Anywhoozle, Congratulations!!

Yeah, it's just a little expensive for me to go to India and hard to get out of work on such short notice. But either way I'll definetely have my dress(es) made there. And I'll be shopping Main Street and Surrey. There's a beautiful dress in the window at Farrah's Bridal that I've had my eye on for awhile.

unbound firs toff congrats!!!!!! big grin heart

as for the dress, u'll look beautiful regardless in love

y dont u go to places like armaan, sunnys or even pick out the fabric and color and get it custom made for u. I know someone who got a gorgeous dress made @ frontier for her wedding. SHe said she lookd through a bunch of designs and picked the color and style she wanted and they made it for her. IMO i think custom made is the way to go, cuz then u can have a dress that is a fusion of eastern and western influences that reflects your own personal style. With whatever u may choose, best of luck to u!! smile

Wow, thats great that you are wearing a traditional dress for the wedding.
you could just wear a sari, but instead of having the end bit over your shoulder, have it draped down. Like this.

BTW, this is my favorite out of all that were posted.

First off, congrats to Unbound...so when is the wedding? For the wedding you could do some orange or pinkish colours, i think that would look nice on you...red is too overdone and might not suit you..but you could try some dresses out for sure. The best shopping is at Main Street...surrey not so great. but ya if you could get your dresses from India, that would be much cheaper and the dresses might be better as well. Anyways i found some websites that you could use...hope they help

also, for the wedding ceremony you could wear a traditional Indian wedding dress, and for the reception you could wear a traditional european or western wedding dress. Ive seen that a couple times before and i absolutely love that idea.

Thanks everyone smile

lushusgurl, I'm for sure going to frontier on Sunday... my future sister-in-law stopped by there yesterday to see what they've got and said there are some stunning dresses. One has a $19,000 price tag!! blush (and you bet I'm gonna try it on.. haha) That's where she had her reception dress made, you pick out the fabric, design etc. and they send it off to India. If it comes back and you don't like it, you don't have to buy it.

muchita, I could wear a sari but there's alot of sitting and getting up and down at Indian weddings.. so it might not be too practical. Thanks for the link.. I heart the first & last red ones, the blue & gold one and the last pink one. GORGEOUS!! And I really like the black sherwani (mens wear), or the gold and blue sherwani to match the blue & gold dress.

Thanks for the links wild_doll.. I like the idea of an Indian dress in the morning and a western dress at night. But I'm actually not all that into white wedding dresses. I think the Indian dresses are so much prettier.

Totally agree with you! Stick with the Indian dresses, they are so much nicer than boring white western wedding dresses. big grin
