Check out the castles, stay along the waterway running through the middle for the scenic views. If you have to go to Germany by train make sure you take the express train to Cheb instead of the one with minor stops or you will be trapped for hours, then have to get off, take a bus, and take another train again! blush blush blush blush blush blush blush

I could not tell the difference between the two. They were both labeled "Cheb"

Have fun! devil

wow.. that's so cool, stephen. My friend Ben went over to Europe for like two weeks by himself and got to go to so many places. he said something about a train ticket that is good for like so many destinations.... he said the train pass thing is what helped him travel most.

maybe look into something like that? the go short distances too, i think :ugh:

that's so cool you're going! yes

the rail pass is a good deal if youre staying on the mainland (no UK), and not going long distances. its still massively expensive, just like everything else.

however, renting a car was BY FAR the highlight of my trip. i dont know that i would do that in the east, tho i dont have experience with that first hand...

I dont recommend a eurail pass unless you are going to venture numerous places. They are pricey and limited also.

Euro rail pass is expensive......so is gas.....

I am not sure what it is other places but my parents pay what works out to be about $6.50 a gallon in NL.

Food though......Oh my gosh ........you can eat and eat for such a good price. smile

I will have to ask my mom next time she calls about the eating out.

Thinking about it............yeah eating out was compareable.......(NL, Germany, Italy, Austira, Switerzland, Greece, Spain, CZ)..................living over there (NL and Germany....don't know about everywhere else) you can buy at the stores twice as much as you can hear for the same amount.

But anyways......the food it great!

I can usually drink about 10 Korunas and I'm really drunk. Sometimes I'll drink Koruna lights, depends on which is on sale.

I live in Prague now, in Vysehrad. It's awesome. Wenceslas square it kinda touristy and filled with romany whores at night. There are Czech fast food stands lining the street that are opened 24 hours and serve sausage, hot dogs, hamburgers (made with ham, not beef), fried cheese sandwiches, and pivo pivo pivo!

You'll have fun, there's all kinds of things to see and do.

depends if you r a tourist and cannot speak the language then too much..
dont go into the main tourist areas and you'll pay peanuts for a meal..
a good indication is if beer is more then 40 kcz then forget it..to expensive go some where else

quote:
romany whores

if you are going to be political and call them whores atleast call them filthy gypsie filthy dirty whores..it sounds better..especially when you try to translate it to slovak or czech..they dont desrve to be called romany..!! big grin

to translate its equvalent: spinave kurvy cyganske

I add an extra word to spice it up alittle

Food here is really cheap if you go to the grocery store and cook for yourself. It takes a little more patience than eating out all the time, but things like produce, meats, cheese, eggs, milk, and bread are really cheap. Things that you would have at home (heinz, kraft, french's, old el paso, etc.) are quite expensive, approximately 1.5 times what you'd pay for it in Canada. If you are willing to eat like a Czech, you'll save a ton of money.
