Hey!

Got a few questions:

I own a 99 honda civic SE.
I have my speakers change few months ago (Pioneer), and my music is still very soft.
I turn it up to 23-24 in volume then i think it's good.

I am told that i need an amp, so it gives more power..is that true? I sit in my bro's celica and he has a amp and a sub and it's blasting when it's on at 15 (volume).

I don't want to have too much bass, where ppl can hear outside, so i dont' think i need a sub, but does an amp really make a difference in volume?

and if i do need an amp, what channels am i suppose to buy? 1,2,3,4??
and what's the difference in the channels...

let me know thanks..and where i can get this all done in reasonable deal.
I am thinking about Future shop or A & B sound...like to get things done within the day..

Amps will give your speakers more power thereby making them louder, but you want to make sure your speakers are good so that the amp wont blow them..

Are you running an after market deck? If you are, and you decide to put an amp on your speakers, you can change it so on the back of the deck, instead of connecting all the wires together, you just connect them to RCA's and plug them into the back of your deck. That will give more power to your speakers, and it actually makes the noise more clear.

In my car i have 2 amps powering my speakers, and another sub powering my subs, and i can have my stereo on and step outside and it will sound perfect, nice and clear and everything.

As to where to go.. It's your prefrence really... Depends what brand you want. I've heard that A&B sound rips people off but i can't say that as a fact.

Or, if you want, I would be able to install the stuff into your car, and i'll charge you next to nothing probably.

But yeah, if you have any more questions. feel free to message me and i'll help you out the best i can.

you want one channel per speaker. so if you are running only a pair up front.. u need 2 channel. 2 in back as well and u will need 4. if you want to power a sub you will also need either a mono or a 2channel u can use as well.

why don't u list what you've got in there now and people will be better able to give you advice based on what you have.

i have an mtx 4 channel amp thats been sitting around for a year. reasonable quality, i'll let it go for cheap if u want it

I would suggest running just a two channel amp for your fronts. The rears can just be powered off of the deck - they are really only for 'fill' anyways.

If you need a hand installing them I have 16 years experience and I have been doing this professionally since Ace os Bass was on the charts. tongue
