I was thrilled to hear this morning that we have now armed our transit police.....

I think that makes us officially the only country in the world where our customs officers aren't armed, but our transit officers are. But of course this makes perfect sense, because the transit officers need to be able to shoot vandals....while the customs officers...well they are just protecting our borders....what the hell would they need guns for.

this could act a precedent for the BSA to get armed officers as well. but seeing as how the gov't disbanded the ports police, i doubt that a federal action would arm the border officers. transit is provincial, and a lot easier to push the needed legislation through. maybe contract armed BC officers to the federal border stops in BC, like the way the RCMP (federal) contracts to municipal and provincial groups.
