Are there some plain dumb things you do, despite knowing how silly they are?

I noticed that I not only wave but whisper 'thank you' when someone lets me in to traffic...umm they can't see that and why the heck do I feel the need to whisper, especially if I'm alone.

I also have conversations with my puppy. I ask him how his day is going and say things like 'hmmm' waiting for his answer.
