...For guys and girls to TRULY be JUST friends??

We have been having this discussion lately about boys and girl being just 'friends'. In my opinion OF COURSE girls and guys can be friends!! How ridiculous to think otherwise. One of my best friends is a guy... and we're only friends, nothing else... never have been anything else, never will be. BUT my friends boyfriend doesn't understand how me and this guy can be such good friends, without anything else.

My argument has been that, we're able to just be friends because we get along really well just like me and some of my girl friends do, there's just not any sexual attraction between the two of us... we just like each others company etc.

My friends boyfriend though, says that a guy and a girl are NEVER just friends, he thinks that ANY guy who is friends with a girl is either..

1. Attracted to them and wants to sleep with them in the beginning, and if it doesn't happen, they become 'good friends' but the guy is always hoping in the back of his mind that he'll **** her.
OR
2. Isn't necessarily physically attracted to her in the beginning but after getting to know her IS physically attracted to her and wants to **** her/be with her/go out with her..whatever lol.

Basically he's saying that when it comes to guys and girls being just good friends, it's bull**** because if the chance EVER arose for the guy to be with his 'good friend' he definitely would.

I said to him (using me and my guy friend as an example) that my friend wouldn't ever want to be with me sexually, it just wouldn't happen. BUT then he got me thinking, is the reason for him not wanting to 'have sex with' or 'go out with' me, that he KNOWS i would never be with him like that because of it wrecking a friendship or whatever? and now when i think back to when i first met him there WAS that initial physical attraction on his behalf....

During another conversation i had with a group of guys, one of the guys said
"yeah i'm only friends with girls i'd fcuk..." and i'm like "ok so, you wouldn't be friends with a chick you DON'T want to root?" and then he was saying how what he said came out wrong n blah blah... but what he meant was, he'll be introduced to a girl, think shes hot, wanna root her. OR he'll be introduced to a girl, not think much of her at first but eventually if they become friends,wanna root her, or at least WOULD root her rather than WANT to, it's just the way it is with guys. Lol.. and all of the guys in the conversation agreed with that. Then i looked around the group of guys and realised that over all the years i've known them all, everyone of them has or has tried to pick me up. LOL so.... what does everyone else think?..

Yes of course. I have many girls who are mates. If they ever said 'FCUK ME NOW!' I'd think about it, but probably wouldnt.

Yep i agree Caitlinn... You and i are very similar in the fact that we get along better with males as friends than we do females...

One of my closest friends is a male and wouldnt even think of anything starting between the two of us and visa versa.

I have come to the conclusion these days to not give a f.uk what others think and just do what you feel is right in your life...
