I'm totally freaked when it comes to gaining weight, and so my gyno recommended Yasmin because it actually helps fight water retention, where as most bc pills make you gain weight from water retention . . . It also has a good effect on keeping skin clear, much like Diane35 but at a lower hormoe dosage. I've been on alesse, try-cyclene and depo provera. Depo is amazing when you're on it, but it totally messed-up my cycle when I stopped.

	candymandy Member (1002posts) 6/12/2006 12:53:00 PM All of my friends, and myself included, who have been on alesse have had eitehr a) break-through bleeding mid-pack or b) bleeding while having sex It's good because it's a super-low dosage of hormones, but because the dosage is so low, there are more chances of the above mentioned happening.

The pill does NOT have some secret ingredient in it that causes one to gain weight. Some pills do cause water retention and you may have an increased appetite however, that's not the pills fault. You are the one who are in control of what you put in your mouth. Blaming weight gain on the pill is such a cop out. alesse :eb0la: messes with your hormones for sure (some say it makes ya crazy) and has a very LOW estrogen level. For many women they spot throughout the month which defeats the purpose of even being on the pill for many. The pill unfortuntly is one of those trial and error type medications. You have to find one that works for you and your body type. What works great for me might not work at all for you.
