Whats the deal with granville st downtown? Are we allowed to drive there now? i see cars parked along the bus-only sections all day but dont ever see anyone driving along it.

That being said, have any of you stood at granville and georgia and looked south along granville? ALL the trees are gone! the trolley wires are GONE.

It looks SO empty!

sad

Still, it will be fun when they open the line to Richmond.

I saw the access stairs and escalator at Granville Station.

I saw the access stairs and escalator at Granville Station.

A most keen observation.

Trees are up on most of Granville ThePhoenix.

New trees with roots that grow down not out in an effort to minimize damage to sidewalks and street.

Last time I was there was about 6 months ago and I couldn't figure out the purpose of those 4 ft black posts lining the sidewalk .... anyone know?

only think I could think of was crowd control? but they seemed oddly spread out for that and didn't have the hardware to attach chains?

I heard that they plan to use the posts in order to cover the street for various events. They will basically hold a canopy to tarp over the street. I thought it was a rather retarded idea if you ask me...

Somehow I am betting it will not be completely done by their end of Nov. deadline... still looks like alot is missing...
