I want to get a digital camera and wanted to know what is the best buy out there. I am willing to spend up to $750 CDN for a camera (incl. taxes).

Go Canon or Nixon For that price range. I dont like sonys, panasonics, fugi film etc....I have a canon thing is freakin awesome!!!

Sonys sucks mainly cause you have to by their memory card instead of an SD or CP card.

If I were you I'd save up a little more and get this one http://www.lensandshutter...s&key=item&id=229 The 14-45 lens is not the greatest but its good andthe 40-150 mm lens is the best starter lens out of all the manufacturers.

If you decided on a Nikon or Canon, go for the Nikon. Canons lower end slr are fisher price quality. The higher end stuff is nice but not the entry lvl ones.

I have a Panasonic with a leica lens it was around the 250-300 range it's only 4 megapixels and has a total of 48x zoom. It's all i need and more and I'm super happy with it. Dunno if that helps but check it out for sure
