IRA conflict took place in northern ireland it seems ... which explains why there were no bombings of civilians (not that the Crown gives a sh!.t about the civilians anyway).

Coming back to the topic ..... and in no way i am trying to discredit engineerF in any way ..... i do understand his points very well .... his analogy is not flawed per se ... i totally understand what he's trying to say ... and he has brought up excellent points.
For example, let's assume that northern ireland was totally another country with dutch citizens and IRA-terrorists living amongst them, the UK would not use excessive force in bombing the civilians to ashes.

Thanks to Engineer for actually answering the question. I never asked anyone to pick a side, I simply asked what world you would rather live in, one run by Hezbollah or one run by Israel.
Moving onto the next phase of my argument, obviously Israel is being challeged on their use of force. I have already stated that Hezbollah are cowards for hiding amongst civilians and using their deaths to promote their war. Lets look beyond that. Where does Hezbollah get their funds? I have heard Syria and Iran. Does anyone have any proof?

Israel does not target civilians. They have weapons that have a margin of error of about one meter.
300+ people have been killed.
maybe they're not targetting civilians, but they're not doing a very good job at not killing them.
you're looking like an idiot for trying to justify the killing of the labanese people.

Dickss posted a link that showed a captured Hezbollah weapon which had a stamp on it clearly indicating it came from Iran.
I cant find the link
who gives a fucck?
israeli helicopter and planes are made by the US.
hezbollah has close ties to syria and iran. how does that explain the civilian casualty and the ruining of the lebanese infrastructure?

^ There will always be civilian casualties when fighting wars in cities.
Ruining the infrastructure will incapacitate Hezbollah and the enemy. This could be debated, perhaps Israel will help rebuild.
Now your saying who gives a ****k where they get their weapons. Israel is a country, Hezbollah is not. What G8 country views Hezbollah as a soverign country? What country other than Iran or Syria feel Hezbollah is in the right and will benefit from them attacking Israel? If Canada were sending weapons to Al-Qaeda, would the US be justified in attacking Canada? Of course they would, Al-Qaeda has a history of terrorism against the US. One must stop the source.
Iran is playing with innocent peoples lives. It is as if though they are acting like a teenage boy throwing rocks into a sleeping bears cave. They hit the baby bear (Israel) a few times and its okay, but you wake up the mother (US), then look out.
Who is to blame? The boy throwing rocks at the bears, or the bear for attacking the boy?
Personally, if I wanted to have a happy life, I would walk by the cave, because I know if I walk by without throwing a rock, I'm going to be okay. If Iran complies with the UN resolutions and terrorists do as well, I bet they and their countries would be okay. When has Israel attacked Iran?

The Yanks have been itching to find a reason to invade Iran. Having their spin doctors put it in the news that the Hezbolah weapons are Iranian made is good way for them to find an excuse.

USA goes into Afghanistan so they can build that pipeline which taps into the oil from the Caspian Sea. Now that pipeline has to go through Iran -- surprise surprise!!

^^ Maybe the US should use some of that $10 billion a year it gives to Israel to help rebuild Lebanon and repatriate the millions of Palestinian refugees its illegal actions has created.

that's a great idea.
US should give part, or better yet, ALL of the US tax payer money it gives to Israel every year to help rebuild lebanon after it has been demolished by israel.
that's $10 billion going to rebuilding, instead of destruction.
