quote:
- I'm glad Israel did not negotiate, if they did, these types of attacks would have happend in the future.

See... brewcoke... as far as I can tell, Israel's policy to use bombs to "negotiate" is in no way shape or form going to prevent future attacks EITHER.

At BEST perhaps a status quo will remain. At worst, the legacy of this conflict will strengthen anti-Israeli sentiment for years to come.

So even if you think negotiating wouldn't prevent future attacks, if we reason that this campaign of violence and destruction won't prevent them either, then why not choose the route that does not involve dead civillians?

^i think you mean one that minimises civilian casualties. i dont think any kind of war has been fought in which civilians have been spared. nice thought though. heart

good attempt at rationalizing the lebanese deaths as 'just a thing that happens in a war'. Israel is responsible for these deaths because it did not need to carpet bomb southern lebanon. Israel is no better than the terrorists.

You can start making comments like these when you become Defence Minister for a country. until then shut up with those comments, Mr Expert on Everything.

How dare you make comments like that? I mean really. What nerve.

I remember being 5 years old and seeing Lebanese burning on the tv screen.

The whole situation is so tragic.

I'm probably wasting my breath on you, but I'll explain anyway.

Group A: Defense Minister of a country is like the management team of a company.

Group B: Jews, Sympathizers, and People who generally are concerned about the longevity of the Jewish people in the region are sort of like the shareholders of a company.

Are you suggesting that shareholders don't have the right to question the management team's opinion on the way to maximize the value of their shares?

Often times, shareholders take the long-term view, while management takes the short term view.

Short Term View: Kill LEbanese because it will get me elected next year and I don't look like I'm 'backing down'.

Long Term View: If I want long-term peace, there needs to be some sort of compromise and compromise starts with dialogue not with demonizing the other side and bombing innocent civilians and being a STATE terrorist.

I consider myself to be someone in Group B.

I don't need to be the 'defense minister' of any country to understand that killing innocent civilians is a bad way to build consensus and enact ever lasting peace.

But I'm glad with what you've started - maybe we can just patently ignore all your 'opinions' because you have no education and you're not worldly? That would make things easier for sure.

You are not privvy to all the details of this issue. None of us are. So instead of posting it here, maybe you should email your suggestions to Israels chief tactical officer. Im sure he would LOVE to hear what you have to say.

Killing innocent people is unfortunate and wrong, but you dont see me telling them what to do, do you?

do you know why? BECAUSE NONE OF US REALLY KNOWS whats going on over there!!!!!

Nice attempt at rationalizing genocide.

You didn't know all the details in Hitler's mind, nor were you in the third reich, nor were you in Germany, nor did you understand the socio-economic conditions of pre-holocaust Germany, yet we can matter of factly agree that the Holocaust was wrong.

It's also a shame that I don't have to travel to the moon to calculate the strength of it's gravitational pull.

SEriously, where do you come up with this stuff?

Blindly trusting leaders = blind patriotism = mental retardation.

Blindly trusting leaders = blind patriotism = SHEEP = mental retardation.

Israel is not bent on killing innocents, it is only bent on killing Hezbollah no matter how many innocent people die.

There, that makes it so much better for the families of the dead heart

From a press release today;

"videotape footage showed Katyusha rockets being fired from alongside the building that was destroyed in Qana."

This is how the Hezzies fight....they plant weapons where they do the most civilian damage.

From another report;

"As for those Iranian-supplied rockets, which the terrorists rain indiscriminately onto Israeli towns and villages like Kiryat Shemona, many of them contain ball bearings specifically designed to kill Israeli civilians. "

One last quote;

"And, yes, all the world's condemnation for the deaths at Qana. That is upon Israeli shoulders, too.

It was a tragedy, yes. A wretched, sorry tragedy of war.

But it is a tragedy that only people of conscience can share with the victims. And none of those people can be found among the tragedy's true perpetrators, the conscience-free terrorist killers of Hezbollah."

Yes and we all know US-supplied Israeli bombs ARE NOT and I repeat ARE NOT designed to kill civilians.

yes US made bombs with a 1 meter margin of error don't kill people. they kill blocks of people.

DragDiva, even if Hezbollah was in an elementary school, Israel should not bomb an elementary school. The moment you rationalize someone's death for a greater good is the moment you become a terrorist. Israel is a terrorist. good job.
