when everyone is sobre, and it's bright out, and you have no choice but to be yourself.... maybe it'll seem more genuine and actually work out!

but the problem is, so hard to approach girls without coming across as a strange dude.. i'm not exactly shy and not intimidated, so that's not the problem.. but when you say hi to girls in "real life" most are kinda defensive, or like weirded out that u said hi in, OMG, real life!

most are weirded out because the majority that do approach 'em are jackasses or crude. or have a "hey do you wanna party" type attitudes that has made lasses thicken their skin.

I had this convo with a friend last week, she brought it up. she's a down to earth type and she says guys don't approach in van (she's originally from back east) and those who do are generally obnoxious about it versus not.

^ yes meggs - its all because the guys are asses. it could have nothing to do with the fact that girls, as much as they talk about wanting to be approached do not know how to act once that happens.

vancouver girls are VERY different than anywhere else. they do not like being approached in general. the ones who respond usually are not from vancouver...

i am talking outside of the club and other single havens like the beach...

Reading the "I saw you's" in the Georgia straight shows how lil people actually say "let's go for coffee " or whatever the lines you like to use or hear to take the next step to know a stranger.

everyone is all about the computer & typing, in van. (this is a guess)

many women are intimidated and feel that the guy wants more than coffee... they believe that the guy's intentions are more serious here, while in other parts of the world they are more whimsical about it.

this is from the view of women i have spoken with, biased i am sure.

the only difference that i notice is that vancouver women are not as initially flirtatious as foreigners.

That seems about right, I mean imagine if KCP asked you for coffee, and you were a girl... would you think he's just being whimsical?

this is true, it's either one extreme or another, or is amongst the girls I used to hang out with a lot. Some are realllly flirtatious (even if they had a bf), while the others, more earthy, were not (with or without a bf).

my point is, chicks are generally the same everywhere. Location makes a sh.it of a diffenerce.

Especially in the western world. Youre all taught to think in a simliar fashion.

I am, like you, influenced or learned by my surroundings. however that does not mean "i'm taught" as in "brainwashed" to know when to avoid particular aproaches like some @ red room.

meggs, you're a man hater.

you're gonna avoid and hate ANY man that "approaches" you.

give it up

soon

or it might grow back.
