Chefantez, I think Sandy looks good in both do's... What matters is which hairstyle she feels more comfortable sporting.
Are you trying to give her a complex or something?

You said that after long deliberation (which means you thought about it a lot) you have come to the conclusion that you think Sandy looks better with long hair.
Then you reinforced your oppinion of which hairstyle you thought looked better by asking her if it had grown back to it's original length yet.
If you are asking her this I can only assume that the drastic change to her style took place somewhat recently. Furthermore, if what you say has any importance to her and cutting a lot of her hair off was a new experience for her, your comment could have very well planted a seed in her mind.
Don't you see your "oppinion" may leave Sandy doubting something that at first made her feel sexy and perhaps even more confident. Leaving her to sit awake at night and obsess about what kind of hairstyle her peers would prefer to see her with. Thus creating a complex.
It's comments like yours that are the driving force behind some women's 150 piece wig collections. Or comments such as "I prefer you as a blonde" that compell some women to bleach thier hair white repeatedly until eventually it falls out.

Calm down Ali...!! I have a preference to long haired brunettes. This does not mean that I want every woman I meet to grow her hair and dye it dark.
Maybe you are correct though when you comment on the ease at which we can place doubt in others minds at to what they consider the correct appearance...for THEMSELVES!
But ultimately, is that not the thing that makes us individuals. Is it not the process of growing up that tells us we are fine the way we are, and to hell with everyones opinions of us. Is this not what we are aspire to. Hey world this is me, so what if my hair is shorter than it was last week...its still me...but I like thank you for your opinion that that you liked my hair longer.
We cannot change the way the world truly sees us, but we can change the way we feel about ourselves.

You probably should have followed up your comment with "But you still look GREAT with short hair!" or something like that...
