my phone kept working after it fell out of my pocket at a foam party. it was soaked and didn't work for a few days. but after taking the battery out and letting it dry for about a week, it came back to life.
i've also heard that putting it in rice helps to absorb the moisture even faster
what brand of phone is it and which carrier are you with?

you want to let it dry before you turn it on, otherwise it may short out

I wouldn't even bother trying to lie. They'd know in 2 seconds of opening it up what happened.

tell them you licked it because you wanted to know how your phone tasted.

just let it dry out
find a warm lamp and put it under it for a while... not a hot lamp, a warm lamp

I knew someone who let her phone dry for a week but in the end it finally worked normal again. Take it apart somewhat to make it dry faster.
