what do you all think is the average length? i'm going to be knitting one for my brother and i don't want it to be too long or too short... so far google has been no help at all.

i've always thought mens were shorter... cuz mine are really long... like 7 feet. i'm confused sad

why don't you double up on yarn and up the needle size to make it go quicker.

^my brother asked for one for hannukah since he's living in ontario right now. it gets effin' cold.

kungpow, i didn't know i could do that... but i guess it's too late now. i already had to start over again because i made it too wide. i can't really up the needle size because then the scarf would look too holey and i don't think that's a good look for a guy hah

My boyfriend always wears scarves with his suits before games and his are usually around his belly button. He looks HOTT blush

no I mean hold two strands of the yarn you are using together and knit it with a bigger size needle, say a 7 or 8 depending on the yarn you're using.

but if you have already started then yah, I guess it's too late.

Also, if you are making it for functionality rather than for looks then who cares if it is the right length, as long as it wraps around his neck and can tuck into his coat it won't matter, he'll just be happy he's warm.

^good point. i have til jan 7th to finish it technically. i still don't understand what you mean about doubling up the yarn. i'm too knew at knitting hah.
