More like the power of makeup, hairstyling, professional photographer, good lighting, and photoshop.
But I'm not surprised, people can really make the best out of themselves.

the lady's above right boob is pushed up to the point of folding... that's not sexy.
but still amazing.
remember when everyone used to go to Glamourshots to get that done... no one ever looked like themselves.

Some of those girls before pictures are still pretty. Others had a major transformation. yes makeup does a lot, so does lighting, photos etc like mentioned above

I haven't worn make-up in over a month...haven't worn it regularly for almost a year. I used to think it was the difference between being plain and beautiful...I still think that way sometimes but slowly I think I am snapping out of it. When you don't wear make-up you really start to realize what a myth beauty is.

I recognize 3 of those women from Extreme Makeover (wrote a paper on the show once, I don't just have a weird freaky memory).
All 3 that I recognize had eye lifts, chin lipo suction, breast implants, and dental work, among multiple other procedures indicidual to their own cases lose nose jobs and chin implants.
That being said, it is likely that more of the women on that page had surgery as part of their extreme makeovers.
