I'd buy RHD due to the better mechanical quality of Japanese used cars over local models, and the fact that many of the models I like (Skylines, Kei cars like the Figaro), were never available in a LHD equivalent.
But I'm biased... I already own 3 RHD cars, and enjoy the attention I get while driving them =P

Yes, I would buy drive a RHD vehicle.
No, I wouldn't import a 15+ year old vehicle from Japan that has sat for the last few years awaiting export. Additionally, since these vehicles are no longer road worthy in Japan, there is spotty paperwork at best and there is nobody to govern odometer rollbacks. You should see some of the junk that comes through the South Terminal at YVR.
Not to mention that aside from the 3F Landcruiser engines, there is not a lot of support by way of parts for these models.

anything that is made in japan is decent to high quality, usually never poor quality.

^ I don't think that is an issue. The issue is support for the JDM motors that were never introduced to the USDM. There are VERY few motors that share parts and since they are at least 15 years old and some out of production you might find yourself up fecal creek without a propulsion device.

after driving one for the first time a few weeks ago, NOOO!!!! i wouldn't. the visibility when making right hand turns is so bad. not to mention just keeping centered on the road.
