I'm due for my menses this coming Friday. I will be out of town.
I have never used birth control before. But I heard that if you take birth control a few days before you get your menses, it will skip?
Any advice would be appreciated, my doctor is hard to get into and I'm leaving in 2 days on short notice!!
My girlfriend can give me her BCP pills.

If you are already on birth control you can skip ur period by continuing to take the pills instead of skipping for the 7. You might skip it, but chances are seeing as ur not already on it you will have some bleed through. I am not sure why you would choose to go on it just to skip ur period but anyways... I also would not take ur friends prescription, go to a doctor and get your own. There are alot of different kinds and some are better for different sized girls. Don't be foolish and go to a doctor, even just a drop in clinic.
Spiderwoman, you can start on any day of ur cycle, but as I said you might wind up with bleed through and stuff until ur cycle links up to the pills. Most doctors suggest taking it right after ur period on the Sunday so it is already in line with ur cycle and if you start on a Sunday you shouldn't have ur period on a weekend.

Shoot, as I said, I will be going away, on short notice, Last thing i want to worry about is heavy flowing in Oakland.
My girlfriend works in youth clinic, where BCP are at her disposal.
So for a gal who has never been on BCP, wanting to skip her period. I"m pretty much unable to?

hello!! again, this time I"m off to San Francisco!, my period is due this week. I have been on the 21 day yasmins since september, i am supposed to be taking my placebo pills starting tommorow. But I want to skip it.
i know i can break open a new pack and start a new week.. but am i just supposed to keep on taking it from the new pack and after i hit the new pack's placebo pills.. my period should arrive?

21 day packs do not have placebo pills, only 28 day packs do, but yes that is right, you just start a new pack and when you get to the end of that one you will get your period like normal.

I did not expect to leave to san francisco (or out of the country for that matter) so unexpectedly. Just found out late friday!! and im leaving in a little bit.

I don't see what the big deal is with it anyway...I mean, having a period should be like second nature by now shouldn't it?

don't worry i'm seeing my doc on monday if this still continues. so i went to san fran... and just started to spot on last wednesday... the whole idea of forgoeing a full period didn't completely work... but...
i'm still spotting... been almost 10 days
