There was another shooting this morningt in Belltown (2:30 a.m.) but notice how it hasn't gotten any media attention because it wasn't club related.

Most interesting. Were there casualties or injuries?

one guy was shot.. plenty of witnesses. I don't think the guy was fatally wounded from what I could see from my place...

was it just on a random street or outside a bar?

2nd avenue on the street, not near any bar

You know this reminds me of the shooting that took place out side of the old Medusa with one guy getting shot in the face. Remember how the news covered it that next night then it went away? Interesting how the news picks and chooses what they cover. I also remember a rather big scuffle taking place out side of the old Element that got some cover for one night then it went away. That may be because it was top 40 that night, for Christ sake. Come on.

There was a shooting down the block from my house a few weeks ago, a few cars got their windows shattered the night after and sometime before that a stabbing near where I live, I heard no coverage on the news or papers about any of those incidents.

I'd sure like to see a public record and see if there is an overall increase in violence in the area as a whole. That may defeat some of this crap that it's just only in the nightlife scene.

I emailed the Seattle Times and told them what happened. I heard gunshots, a guy yelled "you're going to have to empty the whole clip to kill me motherf@@@@@". I dialed 911, looked out the window and saw a guy limping on second avenue toward battery. The guy said "Can a brother get a medic out here?" While I was on the line with dispatch, SPD showed up. I went down to talk to the officers to tell them what I saw. They were looking for spent casings on the corner of 2nd and Battery. They told me that they had plenty of eye witnesses and that I should get off the street.
If you look at the police log for that morning you will see that a 911 call was registered for AID not for a shooting at the 2300 hundred block of second.
This thread is not worthless without sited sources. I am a source, I saw it with my own two freaking eyes. Whether or not our local media covers it is up to them. I just find it ironic that they cover a "club" shooting a couple weeks before, but yet when a brother gets gunned down in the street and it doesn't appear to directly relate to the closing of a night club, it gets swept under the rug. Might have something to do with trying to sell million dollar condos. Who knows.

hear say is when something comes from a second hand source. I saw this myself, not from someone else.

when a brother gets gunned down in the street
okay if he was limping away then he DID NOT get "gunned down"
i hear ya though...i think what is the bigger issue here is that YOU saw it, YOU called 911, and yet SPD told you to go away.
i highly doubt the reason it was not covered was 1) was cuz it was a brotha or 2) cuz it was not related to a club. as i said before, it probably wasnt much of a story, or they didnt have enough info.
headline "brotha shot again in belttown"
copy of story "a brotha was shot again in belltown"
doesnt make for the greatest news story.
