I am looking to find a yorkie terrier, but i have had a hard time finding anyone who has them locally. I went into a few pet stores and the prices range from 1900-2500. The price isn't the big deal, i would just prefer to have a little more back ground knowledge on the dog before purchasing (whereas, i dont find the pet stores provide much)

My x bf bought off a breader in langley who breads or sells many types of dogs, if anyone knows any good breaders who sell yorkies, or breeders in general, it would be much appreciated if you could post the information.
thank you smile smile

Yes most people that do take the time to post on these dog posts are people that do not believe in purebred, registered blood lines and would like you to go get a "mutt" from the SPCA. I totally agree if you are looking for some mixed breed that even the SPCA doesn't know what it is, PLEASE goto the SPCA instead of spending $800 for a puggle or something crossed. Alot of half breeds are at the spca and need loving homes.....
BUT.....I think this post is looking for something purebred, with a background and actually blood lines. You should look for a person that actually specializes in Yorkies.....I know of the place you are talking about that your EX bought a dog from in Langley....they are puppy brokers and honestly.....you never know what you are going to get.
A co-worker of mine bought a dashund from one of those places in Langley that sell many breeds and withing 10 hours the poor skittish pup was at the vet with an IV and medication. It had to stay at the vet for 4 days before it was healthy enough to go home.....when they called the place in langley back the ladies reply on the phone was "Oh another one, well what do you want, for us to pay the vet bill or do you want to exchange your dog"
Be careful. If you are looking for something purebred then buy it from someone that breeds them specific, where you can see the parents, and if you are going to spend thousands then makes sure it is registered with a good organization (AKC, CKC) It may take time, but don't rush into it......or you may end up with more then you bargained for.

Good luck!!!
