The 220 gram of protein sounds okay, if you are having an equal portion of it for each meal and are having 6 meals a day... my protein intake is 210 or 245 (if I'm having 7 meals a day) and that's only 35 grams of protein per meal.

But 220 grams of carbs...? That seems like a LOT, even with your activity schedule.

I'm pretty sure it was you who went and talked to one of the best trainers in the lower mainland for health and nutrition...? And now is asking at Fitness World and CV...?

Timing your meals is important, but you do not necessarily have to eat the exact same foods at every meal.

I didn't state you have to eat the same foods, but the amount you eat - meaning the protein and/or carb content that is in it. As in, is it a protein meal or a carb meal. How many grams of protein is in it and/or how many grams of carbs.

Uh huh. She is one of the best. I still use her workout routine with some other add-ins. Her advice proves useful time and time again. I also like to obtain the opinion of others (cv) in addition to fitness gurus' advice. FW is geared towards beginners but the opinion did not fit me, even though I explained my activity level, resulting in poor advice. I see nothing wrong obtaining others' opinion, their experience is not beneath others. I'm sure the folk on cv has some things that others do not. No one is completely learned in all aspects of fitness.

^^no i don't weigh 200lbs, but I can't pack in more than 220g of carbs. it just makes me sick. and I need those calories otherwise I am edgy and nearly pass out. I certainly don't get protein farts so I know my intestines aren't getting clogged with overdoses of protein.

How much protein do you take in Treble?

^ I hear you... I like to read the forums here for what others do and for information in general. I love learning and there is never a shortage of knowledge to drink up. I couldn't ask for specific information from anyone online cuz they don't know what I look like, what my work out programs are like, what my lifestyle is like.. nor do they know my goals - both long term and short term.

Juggy, if you want to increase and/or keep your muscle mass... you need to take the adequate amount of protein to support that. My days are longer than the norm and my activity level is ridiculously high.. yet I eat so little. One of my goals is to build more muscle and lean out more... so for a while I was eating as much as a female bodybuilder would and I gained 10lbs of solid muscle in 3 months. More muscle, less fat. Now I'm cutting and did drop the amount of protein I take in.

I'm not complaining... my ass is tight enough to bounce quarters off of it... wink

^Yeah, sometimes its easier to bulk a bit, then cut. By bulking you increase your muscle and increase your metabolism so your body doesn't think it's starving. I think if I were to have some severe cutting days I would drop down to 1900 calories. But that would be after a couple weeks of 2200 calories.....that's what I think so far about my plans. That would be 190 g of protein. I think when I got really unhealthy I was barely taking in 50g of protein. You could see my ribs and my skin was terrrrible. I think maybe I was taking in 1500 calories while working from 4pm to 3am plus the gym. bang head

1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight

my guess is at 200+ grams of protein your pushing 1.5 grams/lb which is a bit much

Is that not for someone who has a moderate activity level or the normative activity level...?

Yeah, I was on the road and wasn't paying attention to what I was or wasn't eating. I got super skinny and unhealthy. Working 7 days a week, back to back weeks. Way to mess up one's metabolism. Which landed me here.....

245grams of protein a day at 1.5grams/lb of bodyweight (which is as hardcore as you really could get) would put you at 164lbs......

no i dont think you weight 164lbs.

i dont know why im putting so much effort into this.

i don't know why im putting so much effort into this

cuz you wanna be right? lol
This high amount of protein for me won't be my typical weekly diet, but after months and months of eating not enough and working too much, its catch up time the smart way. Bulk a little, and cut cut cut wink

How long would your body have to play catch up for?

Aren't you worried about overloading your system with protein after not having it in awhile?
