The US have been guilty of these things themselves - I don't think China has ever nuked anyone - The toxic toy scandal looks like it originated in the States - Environmental disaster? look at the pollution the us causes (war, excessive consumption, excessive waste, spent nuclear fuel) - Poverty? Try East LA, the Bronks, Detroit etc.) - Oppression? Stripping of the Constitution, wars, policing - Government Regulation of family size - approved ABORTION They already are the power! the own the US with 2.3 trillion of their debt

	InfectedRectum Member (8978posts) 4/8/2008 3:32:00 PM the chinease government has a very clear idea of what is it's territorial domain and what isn't. you might not agree with their idea, but does not mean that china's foreign policy isn't distinctly different from that of western countries. because it is.

They emigrate because its a dictatorship with inestimable poverty, human rights abuses and true hopelessness in its population. Why do you think Vancouver has so many Chinese? Its not the ocean air. Its because they deplore living in China. My point being...as we see China rise to becoming a new Superpower, there are some rather negative things that come with it.

I know some people who have moved there from Canada as English teachers and love it - they have their issues for sure but they have a totalitarian government and 1 billion people to contend with - plus another brewing hatred from the Westerners - They finance the US debt and keep the US economy afloat - they are Capitalists through and through

It's not likely but that is a perfect pressure tactic that doesn't involve firing a shot.
