Why don't you apply at a restaurant or bar where you're serving and making money on tips ?

chances are you are screwing yourself on your taxes. small paychecks don't take off enough, but add them all up and the gov't wants more $.

been there. done that. I suggest finding one job you enjoy and get as many hours there as you can.

what are you a student for? you might wanna try to get a foot in the door at whatever career you are studying to be.

I think serving is a great job for a student. The hours aren't too long and you leave with cash in hand.

well the whole 'let me know' approach isn't going to do sh!t all for you... how about being proactive and going out with your resume or going to a staffing agency?

people used to call me at my old job and be like 'hey, are you hiring?'.. I'd ask them for which position and what kind of experience they had and they'd answer 'I dunno, anything you got'. that will not get you a job! it's important to have some kind of direction and focus. expecting something awesome to land in your lap isn't going to work.

Well she only works retail now... no extra money in that (tips) For a student the best jobs are hostessing, waitressing or bartending. Start easy by applying in cafes or as a hostess somewhere before moving to a server. Get your "Serving it Right" certificate (will definitely help get a job) Tips are where its at!! smile
