Out of the last 10 months I've spent in Asia I've gotta say I love The Philippines the best. Such an amazing place. It's not just the scenery, it's the people. The people are incredible. It makes me wonder what's wrong with our western culture.

Manila can be hell on earth but even there I really enjoyed myself after I got used to all the guns and extreme poverty. Boracay is beautiful to say the least and so not Phuket or Cancun like people described it. The rest of the country is spectacular also. I'm gonna miss it there, and I can't wait to go back asap. The craziest thing is that there are almost no tourists there compared to neighboring SE Asia. So it's easy to find a tropical paradise beach all to yourself, incredibly easy.

lol actually the sad reality is there are lots of creeps in SE Asia like that

I've been to Thailand 12 times now. I've been fortunate not to witness it. Although child prositution is a major social problem the average tourist will not witness these creeps or the children unless they're looking for it

cause i'm seeing a resemblance!!

Boracay was incredible I can't wait to go back. =)

cest tu. The Philippines is considerably more expensive than Thailand, especially transportation, food and transport. For about $25 you would get a place that $10.00 would get you in Thailand for a room.

The beaches are more pristine and it's easy to find an extremely beautiful paradise beach similar to the movie "the beach" and literally have it all to yourself.

There's not much of a tourism infratructure to get around so travel is a bit more challenging and less comfortable. But it's definatly worth it.

it's the incredible people that make it worth it though.
