^^ Thanks for the concern, but I'm not even in Vegas yet so I can't really judge my future state of mind.

It isn't a spur of the moment thing though, if that's what you're getting at. I've been planning it for quite some time and have heard there's major talent there (just don't know specifically who). Seems like a good opportunity to get some work done.

Do you have any tattoos, Zoe...?

I will tell you this.. getting a tattoo in the summer is something I wouldn't sic onto my worst enemy...

But I've heard GREAT things about Hart and Huntington, which is in the Palms hotel. Some very talented people work out of there and I would suggest looking at booking ahead of time cuz they don't do drop ins.

I'd get one done there on a whim, if I was in Vegas during the cooler times of the year.

do NOT get a tatty in the summer.

you will ruin it, period.

check this out: http://tattoo.about.com/b...ice-from-stacey-sharp.htm

it may be a great opportunity, kill 2 birds with one stone, but, there's no point at all. It can highly degrade the quality of your tattoo, and cause a lot of damage to your skin

^ It isn't neccessarily just about "not being in the sun in Vegas in the summer." I'm thinking about the itch/care factor... combined with sweat, heat, humidity. I've had work done in the summer and I won't do it again.

If you really want to do something, you're gonna do it regardless of what others say. Check out Hart and Huntington, Zoe! What are you thinking about getting done and where abouts on your body...?

I approve! heart

^^ didn't know that, all i inferred from this thread, which was posted in the beginning of summer, is that she's excited to go to vegas, and wants references to good artists.

Any plenty of people do go outside during the day, and also lounge in or around the pools, which also is not the greatest thing for a tatoo.

And Rani is right about the itch/ care factor, as well as not changing someones set mind,

just be careful, it would suck to get great art done, only to have it ruined by something else. smile

Thanks for the advice everyone, but I am NOT a sun person. I am practically albino and therefore do my best to stay out of the sun, or at least cover up. I am one of those weirdos that can be seen in a hoody in the middle of summer.

Yes, I already have a few tattoos and didn't have any problems during the healing process. I can resist an itch no problem...you won't catch me scratching at it.

As for the heat and humidity, I will be indoors the entire time, except for getting in and out of cabs. I will save my outdoor activities for night time. Besides, I'll only be in Vegas for a few days.

It's not that hot here in Vancouver so I don't think I'll have any problems when I get home. My house and car have a/c, as does my school so I won't be overheating anywhere.

I see no reason not to get it done. It's a memorial tattoo for my sister. Not something I'm likely to regret wink

^ I'll post a pic if I get it smile

People keep telling me to stay away from the strip. They said anything "touristy" is overpriced for the quality of work. I don't mind paying, but I don't want to overpay...that just seems silly.

We'll see what happens.

I already have a butterfly blank stare I got it when I was a teenager and it was possibly not the best choice. I've actually never seen one like it though...

I thought about getting it covered up but it reminds me of my life back then. I wouldn't say I regret it, but I wouldn't recommend getting ink done at that age wink
