What gyms out there are devoted to boxing and/or fighting (like submissive style, MMA)...? Other than Contenders, cuz the BAC staff who liaise for them are very unhelpful.

This is where I registered, at least for right now. I can't freaking wait to start competitions again, I almost feel sorry for whoever I go up against first.

Almost.

^ LOL that's awesome! I can feel the adrenaline rushing just by reading that!

Paul, that's more so what I'm looking for... but North Vancouver...? Right now, I box once a week (well, I was...) and I'm undecided if I want to focus more so on boxing or do something completely 'different' and get into fighting. The discipline and structure is appealing and it's just sooo badass... I mean, I got this rep to maintain. wink

North Van..? It's in Kits and also on Dunbar! In the end it's your choice but martial arts is an extremely awesome sport, one of the most skilled there is out there. It's almost like a very intricate form of physical chess, it's awesome. One of my best friends is the Canadian National Champion of JuJitsu, and watching him compete is a work of art. The way he disassembles his opponents is so fun to watch.

You seem like a spunky chick MissRani...go for it, you'll probably love it. smile

My bad.. I should've clarified which Paul I was referring to... smile

But at the Dojang...? What style of fighting is it, exactly...? Dojang is just like a dojo, right...? I think it is the 'spunk' in me that is urging me to pursue fighting to the next level. I mean, besides this rep that I need to maintain... wink Just looks like it'd be a lot of healthy, aggressive fun!

Martial arts rocks. Go for it Rani. My background is karate, but i have cross trained ground fighting...but still a striker. There is nothing like the feeling ..the high you get after a good session.

But be prepared to take plenty of Advil. It is, after all, fighting.

if your fat and looking to drop lb then i suggest you practice with your friendz. It is clinicly proven, don't have to be hardcore but just basic. take down. casually. yes im jelous but if your friend don't want it then so be it. i know touchy feely but it has been proven, twice

Esco, I already do that... I want to do something different. New year, new goals, new focus. I have the strength, stamina and endurance and I've touched into fighting before but I want more. Still looking into various forms of fighting, else I'll pursue boxing full fledge.
