Ugh, what an embarrassment.

'Articulate' certainly isn't one of her characteristics.

^ agreed. She was fairly nervous, and people sometimes stumble when nervous, and being viewed on a 1-on-1 interview with one of the more prestigious (- maybe too strong of a word-or well known?) anchors in front of potentially hundreds of millions of voters, and there's no other person in site to support you, give the answers, or defer to.

Bush Sr. ralphed when fed sushi. It happens to everyone.

HOWEVER, don't mistake that above comment as pro-republican.

She should've been prepped by her senior staff, just like a key witness would be by the prosecution.

i'm not sure why deomcrats don't get it. when they bash people because they don't use big words, or speak in a sophisticated word they are just alienating voters and reinforcing negative sterotypes about themselves. democrats are their own worst enemies.

democrats like to think they are smart, but really how smart are they when they don't get this simple truth?

Poor girl got "flustered".

Gee, being able to be calm in tense situations isn't at all nessesary for a president.

It was a simple question. It didn't require big words, just a little clarification (oops, is that too big of a word?)

Likely, Palin's people saw the questions that were to be asked in advance as well.

I've seen more eloquent answers from Miss America contestants.

it seemed pretty clear to me what she was trying to say. her foreign policy experience comes from her being the governor of a state with 2 international borders.

like i said; nit picking and pettiness.

lol, like it really matters, McCains own party didn't support him yesterday and the american citizens won't vote him in either. Palin is now, and has always been, fodder for the media.

Lol.

I guess that's the point. People like you and her don't see anything wrong with that statement. You don't see the need to expand on it.

Although, she did expand on it with that lovely gem about Putin rearing his head. She didn't point to any specific experience where she's had to intervene on these Russian 'spies' she alluded to.

She is a gong-show. She makes Bush look well-spoken. The fact that any voters can relate to her is a frightening thought. Politicians should be sophisticated, they should be smarter than most people. Most people aren't qualified to run countries.

The thing is, washington can claim to have a foriegn policy too. So can Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota etc.

However, their borders with canada are more populated on both sides than Alaska on 3 sides, to Canada & Russia.

She seems like an average shmoe, which may not appeal to the growing discontent courtesy of 8 yrs of Dubya.

i think most people recognize that all politicians use "spin" to manipulate other people's perceptions and don't really mind the fact that she isn't that great of a lier.

Listen, Ron Paul doesn't articulate in the "queens" English either, but at least he knows about the issues and has years of experience. He ran for the Republican ticket and he was passed over for Sarah Palin - please give me a break.

who cares if alaska shares borders with them. that's not foreign policy experience. you're being an idiot.

agreed.

until she can provide specific legislative actions as examples, then foreign policy is just a term to pad up the resume, without any substance.

She also met some foreigners for the first time in her life at the opening of this year's UN GA meeting in New York.
