Does anyone here partake in protesting? I personally think it's the biggest waste of time. Those with power always prevail and have the ability to tip the scales in their favour. Think of it this way... the average person who is opposed to certain political action doesn't have an outlet to express their voice that ISN'T controlled by the government. (radio, tv, internet etc.) Protesting fails and I'm tired to left wingers with big heads try and prove the world otherwise. Case in point... http://www.movietrailerli.../ct_0008_BattleinSeattleB

protesting usually fails because most of the time protesters are self obsessed losers who just want to bitch and whine about things that aren't their business, things that they want someone else to do something about so they don't have too, or represent some minority opinion that no one cares about.

but sometimes it works; gandhi, usa civil rights movement. but those people were actually fighting for something real and important to themselves... not like the flunkies who gather at the art gallery on sunday morning for the cause of the week.

On the other hand, Jay Leno did pick up the host spot on the Tonight Show after Johnny Carson left.

the biggest difference i see between the true protesters and the wannabe squeegee kids that populate most local demonstrations, is the fact that all of the ppl mentioned (Gandhi, MLKJ, Tibetans, etc.) were/are perfectly willing to die for the cause. if your cause isn't something you'd be willing to die to change, sit back down on the curb till the next red light, you're just whining.

Protests mean arrests, held without bail, questioning up the ying-yang and possibly inclusion on some terrorist list somewhere...who want's that?
