The Chinese still eat monkey's brains while the monkey is still alive. Don't think that is about to change any time soon.
Singapore, however, outlawed the practice a number of years ago.

I eat mostly fish and free range chickens.
I dont feel very badly for eating them
I believe that's what they are here for and they live an OK life up to the point of being killed.
Eating dog is pointless and they have far better uses.
Plus I love Dogs.
I dont care about fish too much

I suspect that as Korea modernizes and the older generation dies out, eating dog will disappear too, or be outlawed. Depends on the Korean mindset, whether they want to embrace all western ideals, or whether they want to maintain the image of a distinct Korean culture. Could go either way.

Last night I had shark fin soup in the Chinatown district of Yokohama. It wasn't bad, kind of gelatinous. Which I guess would be the shark fin.

Im aware of how they catch dolphins.
They wound one member of their pack and count on the others not leaving their hurt family member
They are then easily able to capture and kill them.
Disgusting.

I'm pretty sure if you were stranded on a deserted island, hadn't eaten in days and you had your beloved dog with you, he'd be looking pretty tasty, and your opinion of his purpose would change.
