We are far too soft with yobs in the UK. It has to STOP.

I am FED UP with reading every day in the papers about the pathetically lenient sentences these mindless scumbags get. These drunken sickos who beat innocent people up for no reason should be birched until they scream for mercy, then thrown into some cold, dark cell and the key thrown away.

To hell with their human rights. What price the rights of the victims whose lives these young thugs so heinously and callously destroyed?

We need a government in power who will properly tackle the subject of law and order, and one that will ditch that stupid Human Rights Act. That stupid law where you can't hit your misbehaving kid without running the risk of a police prosecution should also be scrapped. It is just MADNESS not being able to discipline your child properly!

They should bring back the birch for teenage thugs, give them longer prison sentences, and as for murderers, there is only one answer: bring back the death penalty.

I disagree with you. I sympathize, and I believe your anger is justifiable, and indeed I believe that violence is a legitimate solution to some problems. But I disagree with your proposed solution.

I believe that the so-called justice system should be concerned with correction as opposed to punishment. (Note that this does not imply that punishment should not be a part of the system; it just implies that punishment should not be the point of the system.)
