White Parties are celebrated all over the world in many forms of one or another from P Diddy's infamous celebrity White Parties, to Spring Break in the let's get wild theme, to a very different meaning amongst those in Europe ;-) This year Vancouver has its own big WHITE PARTY ft Dave Armstrong @ Gossip April 9th (Easter Long Weekend) hes an internationall known MINISTRY OF SOUND DJ accompanied by Live musicians & performers to a crowd of sexy Vancouverites all decked out in White I'd like to get your thoughts on any previous Kick Ass or ****ty WHITE OUT, WHITE HEAVEN, WHITE whatever...in fact as long as it had a colored theme to it event...what you admired, hated, loved and or disliked about the event... maxwell63 Promoter	3/8/2009 3:25:00 PM ^^LOL, yeah I know what you mean and could see the KKK reference...I dont think anyone wear hoods though, but this is Vancouver remember...also referred to as "NO FUNCOUVER" at times... its not as simple as why dont we have bigger and better events in the city as much as we could, but also the lack of decent venues available to Promoters that bring in Artists & DJ's.... I'm sure were all really tired of being told, "Man, that party in Vegas was nuts!! Or LA, or Miami...etc...Vancouver has the potential, but this city seems to want to create roadblocks for organizers before they even get off the ground. Moreover to the point why many things are either cancelled or never see the light of day, even in a reccession where one would expect people to be more open to th eidea of making money in hard times... Your thoughts?

Why can't we be known for BOTH? And by both I don't mean shootings, stabbings and gangsters ordering bottle service at clubs that change ownership and names every week!
maxwell63 Promoter	3/8/2009 3:58:00 PM ^Hey esta, sorry I was getting to you next...whenever I get a chance to travel I team up with quite a few other organizers and help coordinate events in other cities, usually a DJ series with an alcohol sponsor..like the WHITE PARTY pics oyu see here from Montreal...which usually have better venues and bigger events I get to be a part of, which moreover brings us back to my point of not having enough places here to showcase big Artists & DJ's like a BOB SINCLARE, ERIC PRYDZ, TIESTO...etc...usually the same venues are used...
maxwell63 Promoter	3/8/2009 4:02:00 PM ^^HISH, funny enough...THE FIREWORKS this year=CANCELLED, INDY=CANCELLED, NBA=well....long gone, PEMBERTON=CANCELLED, ARTS COUNTY FAIR=CANCELLED... we pretty much dont have too much of anything left over to look forward too. Look at a city like Dubai which is smaller in population but known all over the world as a business HUB. Yet we a world class city hosting the Olympics which technically has all the amenities cannot accomodate better entertainment, not every organizer has the big backing of media networks to bring in a Madonna, or AC DC...thats why we are forced to go out and produce events at Private venues all the time... But I dont want to get too much off of topic here, I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF YOU GUYS HAVE HAD ANY DECENT EXPERIENCES ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANYPLACE AT A WHITE PARTY in the past...

Shame on the promoters of this event. First, there was a line up outside when we arrived. After paying $120, I definitely DO NOT want to line up in the rain while wearing stilettos and a short dress! Second, there was absolutely no anticipation for the countdown, no balloon drops! no confetti! no mardi gras beads! NOTHING! I attended an event last year which was 25% of the price I paid for this Storyeum "gala" and they had EVERYTHING plus a champagne toast, an ice sculpture, NY hats, etc. Third, a "red carpet" more like a red piece of rug! It was an incredibly small piece of red rug tucked in a corner of the place. The place had absolutely no decorations except for a few balloons! Fourth, ANYBODY could enter the VIP room. Talk about being gypped. quote: This event was a disgrace to the meaning of club. Terrible Dj's , unbelievably small shot glasses, like what the ** were those small toy sized plastic cups. crappy red carpet, i don't even know what to say anymore.
