I have a wedding to attend beginning of June, and was thinking of wearing a Maxi dress.

The ceremony is in the afternoon with a formal dinner after. Location is the Granville Island Hotel.

What do you guys think about the maxi dress idea?
Can I get away with jersey/cotton material?
What kind of cover-up should I wear (cardigan, wrap, etc)?

I love how maxi dresses look with flat sandals, but is this too casual for a wedding? What kind of heels would work well?

My boyfriend is in the wedding party and will be wearing a tux, so I want to "match" his level of formality without looking overdone.

Thanks! big grin

Sounds pretty.
I'd get jeweled sandals and a cozy shawl.

^ That is a killer dress, but I was thinking something a little less formal. My style is a little more bohemian I guess you could say.

I'd wear this:

JS Collections Print Chiffon Gown ($280US)

Print gives it a boho feel, but the chiffon and silhouette makes it much more flattering and appropriate for the formal dinner.

I love how chiffon floats when you walk. in love

Good call. So pretty.

I'm just old fashioned and don't like wearing black or white to weddings.

^ some of it surprisingly affordable too

^^I like the black and white mix...takes you from day to night....neutral yet still visually interesting...easy to accessorize because I am lazy like that

i kinda like the T-Bags one.
with a nice long necklace maybe and 40s hair style> like vita von teese.

but that rachel pally one i think would look real smart beside a tux.
