You're right Shellbell. We should use the US legal system and crime and punishment. I'm sure our country would be much better off.

I thought people make it from milk. *shrug*

What does your mom dealing with 1M+ cases have anything to do with people getting away with 'bloody murder' or drug sentences being more lenient?

^^ Our focus is more on rehabilitation than punishment, and this have proven effective by many researches/surveys. There have been numerous examinations and studies done on this subject.

Unless you have resources showing that an approach similar to that of U.S. would actually reduce crime rate ( I believe research has shown that it doesnt), you can't just fault the system for more relaxed punishments.

What I am basically trying to say, is most people will risk things up here because they know they will serve very little time and the punishment is nothing compared to the states.

^ And what other people are saying is that's an absolute load of crap because there is no metric for comparison that will support that argument.

The people who are comparing our legal system work for the government and obviously will show support in any manner and favor it

I just liked the visual of a bunch of humans standing on a production line touching each container of yogurt as it went past on a conveyor.
