So, that's a "whopping" 100 pounds per year per dog in vet bills. Let's not overstate the 'problem'.

Still, it's an informative look at dog breeding and the ridiculousness of focusing on aesthetics to the detriment of the breed. I'm surprised at the resistance of the Kennel Club to hold breeders accountable. It shows that they don't really want to do what's best for the breeds. Allowing dogs with potentially fatal afflictions to continue breeding is abhorrent. The lack of ethics is astounding.

i am at the 'rhodesian ridgeback' part. that is ridiculous how they 'cull' perfectly healthy un-ridged ridgebacks, even when ridges are loosely associated with disability, and not associated with any physical benefits.
