couple flies to Sydney, NS instead of Sydney, Australia.

Who's the bigger idiot? Travel agent or the goof who boarded an AIR CANADA plane in Amsterdam thinking they were going to Australia?

reading the story (maybe not this particular link, but others on google), you get the sense that they didn't even clue in when passing through Canada Customs, only when they got on a small turbo prop in Halifax did they start to think something was up.

I actually first read this in a Serbian tabloid this morning. Then I looked for it online. I thought for sure Glas Javnosti, not exactly a paragon of journalistic integrity, was making it up.

I mean, for example, this story:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8180069.stm

was reported in Glas as "Burst [of gunfire] into faggots"

Another idiot...

A thief in New Zealand has taken the unusual step of leaving his contact details at the site of his crime.

The man reserved a copy of Pink Floyd's The Wall at a record shop in Christchurch, leaving his name and phone number, before robbing the till.

He was a regular customer at the shop and already had several records on order.

Store manager Garry Knight described the unconventional method of stealing as one of dumbest things ever done.

Mr Knight said that although the shop assistant's attention had been distracted by helping another customer, two other people in the shop had witnessed the theft on Friday.

"It's comical," he said

Mr Knight said that if the man had looked up, he would have seen a monitor showing him dipping into the till from four different angles.

Police were contacted but the man had left the area.

Mr Knight predicted the case would not take long to crack.

haha.

i met a girl in oregon awhile back and told her i was from vancouver. a few minutes later i realize that there is another vancouver in washington, so i correct her and say that i am from vancouver, canada. she is instantly amazed and asks about the snow. of course i told her that the snow is not a problem especially since we have radically improved our igloo making ways.

she believed me.

i never did tell her the truth. just doing my part and perpetuating the myth!

Maybe geography isn't his strong point.

I knew about Vancouver WA, before I moved to Vancouver, BC...but whatever YMMV.

yeah it is true, my geography is terrible.
yes, i cannot recommend a bar/club either.

i also told somebody that i was from surrey and they thought i was referring to england. this happened a number of times so i would just say canada. then vancouver, surrey, burnaby, or richmond.

it happens. not everybody reads up on geography.
