Interesting article. The idea that the square bottle allows them to get more bottles of water in a pack of 12 or 24 is hilarious.

I'm sure their cases are smaller, which means they are "more efficient in transport". They don't get more bottles per case, but I can almost guarantee they get more bottles per skid.

The idea that the square bottle allows them to get more bottles of water in a pack of 12 or 24 is hilarious. i did not want to read the article but i did search for "more" and could not find this ridiculous statement. so it is probably as shmoove_cwiminal says, shipping on a pallet.
as for the image. one word. scale. it is simple geometry.
i have bought square bottled water before and find that they are not as resilient as the round ones. there is a very good square one but it has thicker plastic and more expensive.

I'm guessing the bottles are shorter. The only way they'd take up as much space as conventional bottles is if they used more packaging, which may be the case if they come in boxes instead of flats. Still, II'm sticking with my grade 8 math teacher who told me squares are more efficient than circles.

Hahaha.
It's basic geometry.
But I'm not surprised Esta has trouble with that, not finishing highschool and all...

But just for kicks _pixie_ I am going to go out for a while and when I get back I would like to see a detailed explanation of how basic geometry is applied to this example.

Fiji water is delicious but I feel guilty drinking it.
I don't want Fiji to collapse into the ground because all the water holding the place up is sucked away.

Lol.
I'll bet 90% of people couldn't tell the difference between bottled waters under a blind taste test.
Maybe between spring water and purified water, but not brands. Even that is doubtful.

Did, or does, Dasani claim to be from source water?
|

|

No, they didn't.
What they are doing is basically bottling London tap water and selling it to the gullible consumer.
A Brita style filter would be just as effective, but then again we have people who delude themselves into thinking certain brands of water taste "delicious". *shrug*
Caveat emptor.
