"I don't think the mid-range movie is going to exist anymore," he says in a phone interview from his California home. "Movies are going to be blockbusters or really, really tiny budgets. And the tiny-budget movies have a very, very hard time getting distributed...I think we're going to be left with just more and more versions of Batman."

I've been a big fan of Kaufman since I first saw Being John Malkovich. It'd be a shame if he's right about the direction Hollywood is taking. If everyone could make a collective effort to stop paying money to see shitty movies, it would help.

Just say no to Transformers 3 or Twilight 3.
