About Hops Restaurant-Bar-Brewery
Judging from its appearance, Hops is just like any other burger/beer chain (i.e., Bennigan’s, Chili’s, Applebee’s): lots of wood, brass, ferns and a young, chipper waitstaff. But Hops has something that none of those other chains can claim: its own beer. Yep, Hops brews its own beers -- on premises. Not only are the microbrews a tasty respite from the usual boring bottles, but they’re a perfect accompaniment to Hops delicious menu, ranging from fish to steak to burgers. Yet another fern in Hops cap is its late-night happy hour starting at 9PM Monday through Thursday. It’s not the dinner and pickup joint, say, Seven Bridges and Jacksonville Ale House are, but is that such a bad thing? -- Kerry Speckman
