Generally speaking, railway arches house useful but unglamorous businesses. They are certainly one of the last places you would expect to go to for good food and good music. But at Cargo you will find just that.

A part of the Cantaloupe Group, owned by Richard Bigg (including Cantaloupe Group, The Social and most recently opened Market Place), and under the artistic direction of partner Chris Greenwood, Cargo has become more than a live music venue and restaurant in the two years since it's opening. The projects are countless and diverse, from miniature festivals promoting music from around the globe, to art and graffiti exhibitions, to live showcases for unsigned bands, to jam packed club nights wherein concerts and clubbing are one, Cargo invites talented and acclaimed collaborators from around the world as well as within London, forging a name that equates itself with quality live music, within a venue that facilitates exposure.



Most recently, The Big Chill, the UK's largest independent music festival has become part of the Cantaloupe Group family, and the coming months will see the launch of Casual Records, under the direction of Ross Allen, the man behind BBC London's renowned Destination In and Cargo's monthly, Destination Out.

How to find us Old Street and Liverpool Street Tube / Train stations are 5 - 10 minutes walk from the venue. Liverpool St. Station is just off this map (south) but Shoreditch High St. leads directly to it.
